Africa: Review 2011 with AfricaFocus
AfricaFocus Bulletin
Dec 30, 2011 (111230)
(Reposted from sources cited below)
Editor's Note
As regular readers know, AfricaFocus averages between 6 and
7 issues a month (a total of 77 this year). So there is no
way that it can cover the full range of issues and countries
around the continent. Nor am I inclined to venture into the
popular attempt to name "the top ten issues" of the year.
But I am confident you will agree that AfricaFocus has
provided you and other readers with a wide range of useful
analyses this year.
As I take the opportunity to think about the past year, and
about priorities for next year, I will be reviewing
the coverage for myself and asking what was well-covered,
what neglected, and what may be coming in the months ahead
that needs more attention.
The links below are to enable you to take a similar look
back at topics and countries of particular interest to you,
for your own purposes, and, if you wish, to pass on comments
or suggestions to me for the coming year, at
[email protected]
You can check out the issues for the year in chronological
order, or select particular topics or regions.
Best wishes for the coming year to all AfricaFocus readers,
and particular thanks to the 97 of you who have sent in
voluntary subscription payments to support AfricaFocus work
so far this year. (Hopefully there are a few still in the
mail to bring it up to 100!) If you haven't yet, and want to
add your support, there are links for secure on-line payment
through Paypal or Google Checkout, and a form to print out
to send with a check or money order at
http://www.africafocus.org/support.php
Or you can just send the check to AfricaFocus Bulletin,3509

USA.

P.S. AfricaFocus Bulletin will resume regular publication in
late January. In the meantime updates are available on
http://www.africafocus.org,
http://www.facebook.com/pages/AfricaFocus/101867576407, and
http://twitter.com/#!/africa_focus.
I have also just created a Google Plus page at
https://plus.google.com/115330755907469805695. If you are on
Google Plus, please add this page to your circles. Assuming
that enough people sign up for that in January, I will begin
more frequent updates on Google Plus as well, probably in
late January or February, depending on how easy it is to
automate coordination among Facebook, Twitter, and Google
Plus (I'm looking into that).
