THE COALITION OF NIGERIANS
Washington, DC, USA

December 1995

Dear Organization/Friends of Nigeria:

On January 15, 1966, the military made its very first forced
entry into Nigerian governance, and has not left since then.

January 15, 1996 will mark 30 years of that entry. We believe
that it is 30 years too many, and we wish to let the world
know that by mounting a protest march, to kick off the
world-wide year of "30 Years is Enough !" campaign against the
military in Nigeria, widespread human rights abuses and Shell
complicity in environmental pollution.

Please join us in Washington, DC, on that day, January 15,
1996 (which is also Martin Luther King Holiday in the USA) and
encourage as many members of your organization and friends of
Nigeria to attend. Please bring your own flyers, large
banners, rattles, drums and bull-horns, walking shoes, etc.

If you cannot attend the march in Washington, DC, we encourage
you to organize a protest march locally in your city. We will
publicize the campaign world-wide.

For more information, please call 202/806-4793, 301/989-0016,
301/942-0206, 301/925-8722, 202/393-0070, 301/559-4695
